One of our very FAVORITE restaurants!  Our B&B guests all say it's delicious & the secret is...it's made to order (just for you).  If you're with any of the Horse Shows (HITS), we'll call in your order & pick it up for you (so you may kick off your shoes, dine on your own deck, while viewing the mountains & sunset). They offer wonderful homemade soups (BEST onion soup in town but I'm sorry to say.... it's not on menu on daily basis- so do us a favor & bug the owner to have it everyday).  You'll find something for every taste....seafood, fish, vegetarian dishes, great Italian, steaks, gigantic burgers, mouthwatering chicken dishes, grilled vegetables & variety of sandwiches.  Fred's fries are fresh made from a whole potato (nothing frozen). A few of our favorites are; the coconut crusted catfish/tilapia, meatball sandwiches on homebaked wholewheat rolls (the meatballs are BETTER than mine & that's saying a lot), & stuffed chicken breast, grilled chicken, pasta with fresh clams, scalloped potatoes (ask for cheddar cheese on top).. The owners are right there working & involved, so every meal is top shelf!  You'll find Cynthia Wadnola co-owner orchestrating the workings of the kitchen.  Her handsome & sweet husband Fred Wadnola (your host & mixologist).  If you aren't sure what you desire for a beverage, Fred will think up something interesting & delicious! Neither of them know how to rest, but are dedicated to making your visit memorable!  Cynthia is a graduate of Culinary Institute of America was #1 in her class for pastries....the desserts are not to be missed!  They have another Cynthia who is a server.  Ask to have Cynthia as your server...she's friendly, patient, loving to your children so they feel special, & she's efficient!  You're welcome to go into the kitchen at any time (it's spotlessly clean which is what we look for in the restaurant). Beware....if you don't finish everything on your plate, Fred will come over to find out the reason.   www.FredsPlaceInLakeKatrine.com  Handicapped Accessible on both floors!  Bathrooms accommodate any wheelchair!   

• Ezzo's Ristorante & Pizza 845-383-3696  American/Italian/Greek The BEST CHEESECAKE in town!  One of our favorites! Relaxed & friendly atmosphere. The most Delicious fresh crisp salads (better than any I make-how is that possible!)  All sandwiches are mouth watering & a good size portion . A variety of full course meals with daily chef's specials offered.  Excellent cream soups (but Tasso's lentil is our favorite).   So many rave about their white pizza (if the owners of Fred's Place say it's the best "white pizza", I have to believe them because they are sooo fussy!). I personally like the sausage & pepper pizza (quality sausage is rare).  Macaroni night on Mondays for a full meal under $6 (you can't beat that!)  It's a family owned local business close to the B&B (we can pick up orders with advance notice). Tasso owner/chef, his wife-Laura or Grandma Rose will greet you.  All of the wait staff are delightful & efficient!  Cleanliness is top priority!  Handicapped Accessible entrance (but not the bathroom...sorry). You can have full meals or sandwich/soup any hour which is an added bonus when you're not real hungry or when you don't have much in your wallet.  Feel free to just stop in for the delicious variety of desserts if you're sweet tooth is calling for a treat any time of day.  Very close to the Bird Nest Inn!

• Reginato Ristorante Italian Cuisine (845)336-6436 www.reginatoristorante.com Chicken or veal parm/chicken or veal marsala are the largest portions (other portions are small).  Best Marsala dishes we've ever tasted!  The red meat sauce is a bit different but just wonderful!  You'll want to come back to town just for their pasta sauce. Plan 1 1/2 hours for dinner.  We don't care for their desserts-all were soooo sweet!  Lunch is reasonable. Ask us for a 20% off discount coupon for dinner only!  Just down the street from our B&B!

• Reservoir Inn; (845) 331-9806 right by the Ashokan Reservoir & the steamed clams are the BEST we've ever had. Nice stop after hiking! We have liked everything we have ever ordered there!

• Roudigan's (845)339-3500 By the traffic circle If you desire steak...choose from ONLY the "Magnificent 7" (aged fresh beef) because the other steaks on menu are frozen & just aren't that great...that's where we go for the BEST aged steak & salad bar & fried cheesecake!  Choose your steak right out of the cooler! www.Roudigans.com  Ask us for a 10% off coupon!

• Ugly Gus Cafe; (845)334-UGLY(8459)- The BEST French onion soup (next to Fred's Place). Our favorites are the scrumptious London Broil with brown mushroom gravy & sweet potato fries. Ahhh...the banana cream pie is mouth watering (that's coming from a person who doesn't care about desserts)!!  Dave is a fabulous chef who is a graduate of the Culinary Institute of America! Lunch is our favorite meal there! 

• Gisiano's (845)3035 Family/casual; you must order the garlic knots-unlike any you've ever had!!  Our favorite main dish is Chicken Franchase (never had any sauce quite like theirs...it's amazing).  I personally don't like their red sauce. Good pizza.  A nice feature is the playroom for children so you may watch them while you dine peacefully. Ask us for a 10% off coupon! 

• Olympic Diner (right off of the NYS Thruway) & everything is homemade & reasonable priced.  Great place if you're in a hurry but want quality, variety & good taste!  The menu is HUGE!  It's really too gigantic.  Louie is owner/host & wants you to be comfortable & happy. Handicapped Accessible (all new).

• King's Valley Diner good homemade soups & handicapped accessible (not easy for large wheelchairs to move about).

We suggest going at lunch for the HUGE buffet & then you don't pay an admission fee to hike the trails & use the facility. Plan 3 hours to dine.  Your experience will be a delight!
